This was the first table I created for the project. It consists of a small side table with the top replaces by an empty picture frame. The open sides of the table made it very easy to change position of the camera but meant that I had no control over light levels inside the table. The glass tops made it very easy for the camera to recognize the fudical symbols but the glass is completely see through.

This prototype was extremely useful in the development of my project. Every time I change either the functionality of the shapes, the programs that I was using or the control triggers of the shapes it was very easy to set up and start testing with. It also provided a base to make an early concept video.

At this stage I was still deciding between creating a social instrument or a professional instrument to be played on a stage. With this in mind I made the table able to be dismantled and provided a case that it would all fit into so that the table could then be transported to the next venue.
