Welcome!

"OnStage" is a software piece that has been specially designed to help users practice giving an oral presentation by simulating a virtual audience, which reacts to the users voice.

The virtual audience reacts in various different ways dependant on the volume of the users voice. If the user is talking too quietly, the audience will show signs of having difficulty hearing the user and may ask them to speak a little louder. If the user goes silent for a prolonged period of time, the audience will become restless and uncomfortable and may start fidgeting. If the user's voice becomes too loud for too long, the audience will become quite uncomfortable and very intimidated. When the user is speaking at the correct volume during the presentation, the audience will appear comfortable and engaged with the user.

The aim of "OnStage" is to train users to speak at a suitable volume for the duration of an oral presentation so that, if the user has never have given any kind of oral presentation before or feels they need more practice to improve on their presentation skills, they can now do so with a virtual audience, so that they feel more confident about going out onstage and doing it for real.
