This website contains research material for my final year IMD project which examines the relationship between Clients and Designer / Design team as they work together on a typical web application project.
Based on my research I have found that Clients can go through several periods of anxiety during a typical project due to the following reasons:
- Lack of knowledge of the design process
- Lack of regular progress reports from the Designer
- Poor change control management
Similarly the Designer can go through similar periods of anxiety due to the Client:
- Not deciding what they want
- Changing requirements after they have been agreed
- Changing their minds about which style to choose
- Not getting paid for work completed
The result of this research will be an interactive media application, which can be used by both the Client and Designer to guide both sides through a typical project. It will highlight ways to minimise anxiety by developing strategies to communicate and work together to run a successful project.
I hope the final version of my Interactive Media application will be useful to both Clients and Designers and it can be seen at the Degree Show, which commences on Friday 16 May 2008.
