During the course of this year I have had two focus groups to help me gain ideas and to also cement the ideas I had made up,
The first one I held was in October of 2007, when we had really just started to come up with the main area of intersect that we wanted to explore in our projects, I had a quick ten minute focus group to go over the initial ideas I had, had for the my project with a small group of class mates. Most of the initial ideas people liked and they added some new thoughts and ideas into my initial ideas.
Many of the people thought the best way to encourage people to recycle was to give them incentives, such as money and vouchers. It seems that is the only way that many students would be interested in recycling would be to reward them.

The second focus group I had was just after the Christmas holidays, the purpose of this focus group was to build upon the ideas I had made for the visualisations hand in before Christmas, it was during this focus group that the idea for the musical bin cam about. It was from here that I have built upon this and developed the interface and the system.
