Campaign and Branding

To accompany the table I wanted to create an advertisement campaign that helps to express the issues contained within the project. Another reason for the campaign was to brand the product and give in context.

Icon

For the icon of my brand I tried to incorporate the main aspects of my project. As you can probably see, the icon (shown above) has the TV element while still being the ‘E’ that represents energy and effort parts of the concept.

The advertising concept

Something that took a lot of time to decide apon was the advertising concept. The project was so rich, and had many issues that could be a good topic for a campaign. So deciding which one was the strongest was tough.

After making sketches of what each issues campaign would look like (shown above) I decided the health and fitness was the main issue and was the strongest campaign.

Posters and TV advert

For the posters and TV ad I wanted them to be humourous but also a bit harsh and shocking. The idea that spawned from this was ‘The evolution of the couch potato’. In the posters it depicts a man on a sofa getting fatter and fatter, then a picture of him in a hospital bed, and then a coffin. The poster will be kept simple and use a vector art character style.

For the TV advert it starts of with the same idea of a man on a sofa getting fatter and fatter, but instead of the hospital bed and coffin he just expands and explodes (cuts to nuclear explosion). The ad would then go to a shot of the table and branding with a voice over.

Product Website

For the product website I will use the same graphic style and ideas as the poster and TV ad, but also try to create the feel of a site like apple.com.

The content of the site will be the table; it’s description and supporting images. Although the interactive coffee table is the only one realised, I will use some of the other initial ideas to create a range of product for ‘E for Effort’.
