Card Design

It was my intention to create cards which show images of the escape routes and the corresponding cards so the users have image recognition. As you can see below the cards displayed show different icons at the top right of each card, these icons represent the type of card the user is holding so that they do not need to refer to the color on the back of the card.

My early ideas were simply to have the letter E for escape, B for blueprint and T for Tool displayed at the top right of the cards. After some prototype designs I decided upon a graphical icon at the top right. A small image of an inmate climbing a wall for the escape cards, a blueprint design of a small blue grid and a picture of a spanner for the tool cards.

The images below are some of my design ideas for the back and front of my cards. As you can see below the card on the right shows the T for Tool icon at the top right which will later be replaced by a spanner for my final designs as I felt the T was too plain. The back of the card will require colour to represent the type of card they are holding, allowing players to see what type of card they are taking or receiving. See more on trading here>>>

The descriptive text from the original cards will remain, giving the users information on the cards they will need to escape along with graphical images of the other cards they require.
