Board Game

The image below shows a concept and prototype of my board game:

  • Colour Coded Rooms
  • Path to help with navigation (although users do not need to stick to this route)
  • The 8 Escape routes represented by the circles on board
  • Decreased size of grid from previous game
  • Resized rooms

I redesigned the board this way so the users could navigate it more freely and be less confused about the cards they are using when navigating the board, as the room colour matches the colour of the cards. This makes the placement of the cards easier at the beginning of the game. The escape route locations were placed near locations that would most likely best suit the escape, if inmates were to make a similar attempt in real life. One confusion that did arise was whether or not the players have to stick to the path, this was not my intention and players can freely navigate the board anywhere on the grid.
