Having now almost come to the close of the project I would like to
evaluate on how I feel the project has progressed.
I am disappointed that I have not been able to produce a prototype of
the popup mechanisms or what the comic will potentially be like once
installed. As performing some user evaluation on how people were choosing
to explore the narrative would have informed my design.
Therefore reflection on the success of the installation may only take
place once it has been built in the degree show space. I am excited
at the potential of how users may interact with it and will choose to
document this through film and photographs for future reference.
My management of time has been adequate however as outlined above I
feel I would have benefited from some additional user testing, but for
most of the project I have been on track with my project's aims. In
particular I am pleased with the completed version of the comic, which
colour printed turned out better than anticipated with the depth of
colour being so vibrant.
Looking back at my original proposal and comparing it with my installation
I feel that I have fulfilled my initial theme of creating an interactive
comic. I initially envisaged that I would be creating some sort of digital
solution, however after talking with users I decided to change my direction.
Ultimately
I felt that an 'analogue' interactive comic would be a challenge for
myself to create but also to make other people think about what interactive
media designers can produce. Having surprised myself with how much I
have been able to complete in terms of my original aims looking back
over the year I hope that this project will be a success on degree show
opening night.
