Concept and development:
Background research:
This website is a compilation of research, design and development materials that comprise Ruben's Honours Project: a self-help computer based on Cognitive Behaviour Therapy techniques. This project is the culmination of my BSc (Hons) Interactive Media Design at Dundee University, finishing in May 2007.
The project and its outcomes are described in the following sections:
Concept and development:
What is Kensho: Concept and rationale for this self-help computer.
Use scenarios: Animated storyboards show how Kensho would be used in a day-to-day basis and in therapy sessions.
Appearance prototypes: Descriptions and imagery of physical dummy prototypes.
Working prototype: Construction, added circuitry, programming and tests.
Background research:
Cognitive Behaviour Therapy: How CBT ties in with my project, a look at how we think, anxiety, history of CBT and why I decided to use it for my project.
Collaborations: Feedback and suggestions from a trainee clinical psychologist and a Dundee University counsellor.
Computer mediated therapy: Critique of some commercial online therapy applications and other projects.
Technology: A look at flexible displays, touch screens, portable platforms and other technologies that could be used to build a commercial version of Kensho.
