Campaign

One of the most important aspects of the development stage was thinking of a name and logo design for the campaign.  I spent quite a considerable amount of time on this, as the campaign name would be one of the first things people would see.

Deciding on a name that suited the campaign was quite difficult.  I did not want the name to tell people that they should make no noise at all.  I also did not want the name to be too serious as my campaign is quite light hearted.

The first name that I decided on was No Noise where the no part of noise was emphasised.  I liked this name because by incorporating the word noise people would instantly know what my project was about.  However after further development and thought I realised that saying no noise was not the kind of message that I wanted to convey.  I did not want people to stop making noise I just want them to take in to consideration who they might be affecting.

After further thought I finally decided on “do not disturb.”  This name suited the campaign perfectly as it does not impose the issue on you. By establishing a name for the campaign it has also helped to stimulate further ideas for the campaign.

Designing the logo
After finalising the name it was important to design the logo that fitted the overall style that I wanted for the campaign.  I tried numerous designs and styles until I found a logo that I was happy with.  It was through creating the logo that I came up with incorporating the door hanger, sound circles and pack as symbols for my campaign.  I think using these symbols to represent the campaign will help people to visually see what the campaign is about.

I finally decided on the red logo above.  The rough and squiggly nature of the text fitted with the project and represented the idea of noise.

Through developing the campaign name and logo it has helped me to really visualise the whole campaign and think about how it should be branded.  One of the main focuses of this project is the design; by branding the campaign it will really unite all the design elements of this project together.
