SMS Tag

SMS tag is a project that uses sms text messaging to enable writers, artists, graffiti artists and other members of the public (anyone with a mobile phone) to communicate, collaborate, create and display art in an urban environment. In a similar way to graffiti but without the stigma of fouling a public space, the use of projectors allows a new type of urban communication on the same large scale as advertisers, companies and government.
The project has graffiti elements but is not meant as a replacement for graffiti art, instead it will work alongside it. SMS tag allows for art to occupy a public space more freely while still retaining the guerilla style of graffiti.
